Lichfield Beacon Park Greyhound Walks

Join us for another fun group Greyhound walk!

Historic Lichfield provides the backdrop for our walk on the fourth Sunday of every month. Dogs from the kennels who are looking for homes are usually there so it's a great opportunity for anyone interested in meeting some homeless hounds to come along and talk to our volunteers.

We meet outside the Lakeside Bistro in Beacon Park and walk past the magnificent catherdral to Stowe and Minster Pools. There is a choice whether to head back to the park or continue though to Market Square before returning. 

This walk is flat and suited to those dogs or humans with mobility issues or those with pushchairs. 

There is an alternative walk around the periphery of the park which is especially suited to the warmer weather with lots of trees and shade. 

Back at the Bistro, you can purchase drinks and snacks at the cafe, buy raffle tickets from our volunteers, and have a general natter with other greyhound fanatics. 

Beacon Park also has a superb playground for anyone with children. Parking is free on Sundays and the nearest car park is on Greenhough Road or Bunker Hill car park across the park from the Bistro.

Thank you to Lichfield Council for granting permission for us to hold these walks. It provides a great opportunity for greyhound owners to support each other and for the dogs to socialise, as well as
raise awareness about what great pets greyhounds make.
