All About BLUEY (MELODY'S BLUE)

Hot off the press, Bluey, who will be 3 next month, has arrived at Watford Gap Kennels.
Bluey's first ever outing into the big wide world was to Tamworth with volunteer Katie for a little walk around, with her son in tow to help out. He then went for another trip out over the weekend to Lichfield with his kennel mate Katie who is being fostered over the weekend.
Just like the kids program, Bluey is caring, charming and a curious hound. He jumped straight in the van very excited to go out for an adventure. He had a little whimper of excitement but settled by the time we were at the kennels gates, and he lay down for the ride.
The minute the van doors opened, once parked up, a family opposite wanted to come and give him a stroke, something Bluey was more than happy with, (he is a right ladies man).
After a little chat we started making our way towards the castle park, while he looked at every car, every person, every everything. His little head was going left to right taking in all the sights and sounds. He did pull a little to start with, but calmed down very quickly.
We took him to a ramped area to look at the shallow stream, which he looked at in horror and retreated fast in total disgust that I would even think that he might want to put a paw in the water.
With a hasty retreat we walked towards a little girl feeding some pigeons and geese, Bluey didn't miss a step, he glanced at the geese and deemed them boring, instead he went up to the adults and started rubbing his head up against their legs.... Next conversation with a family was had while the little girl fussed him....
With his fuss meter satisfied for a little bit we walked past some dogs, all small dogs and even some off lead dogs. Bluey again deemed them boring and just carried on sniffing around and popping his head up against people's legs for fuss. I did apologise to quite a few people, but thankfully everyone was happy with his personal space intrusion.
We tried some steps to see if Bluey could do them while an older couple watched on in amusement. Bluey does not do stairs he'll do one or two steps, but not anymore than that. Which was ok, once we made it to the top, with a minor detour, the couple who were watching him wanted a fuss and a conversation, so we chatted to them again about the charity.
It was warming up a little so we started to head back, but again his killer lady skills meant it took longer than we thought to get back. In total Bluey pulled in 7 different families, all who wanted to chat and stroke him. I think Bluey should charge Home Run Hounds for his advertising skills
A few push bikes whizzed past which did startle Bluey a little, but not much. Once he realised what the moving object was and it meant him no harm he plodded on as normal.
Bluey is not going to be in the kennels long. His ready for his retirement and someone's legs to lean on.
