All About ROD (SMALL FACES)

Seeking a Special Soul for a Special Boy: Meet Rod

Have you ever heard of a "Spook"? In the Greyhound world, it’s a term for a dog whose fear goes beyond simple shyness. It’s a deep-seated wariness of the unknown that can make the world feel like a very big, scary place. We don't know much about Rod's history but it seems that Rod is one of these sensitive souls.

At 7 years old, this handsome black Greyhound has is struggling to adjust to life outside of kennels which is what he’s always known. While he was a successful racer, the hustle and bustle life in our homing kennels was a bit overwhelming for him.

Rod’s Journey So Far
Rod was so stressed in kennels we were fortunate to find a foster home for him, and while he has made strides, he still needs a specific kind of environment to truly blossom:
• Inside the House: He is happy, relaxed, and starting to show his quirky personality.
• On Walks: The outside world is still a challenge. He finds new sights and sounds incredibly daunting.
• Once Rod trusts you, he will offer you a level of loyalty that is hard to describe. It’s as if they’ve saved up all their love just for the person who finally makes them feel safe.

What Rod Needs
We believe the key to Rod’s confidence is a furry mentor. Rod would do best living with another dog to show him the ropes. While another sighthound is preferred, he can live with other breeds too.
• Patience & Time: He needs a home (foster or forever) that understands progress isn't always a straight line.
• A Quiet Environment: Someone who can provide a steady routine to help him feel secure.

Why Adopt a Rod?
There is nothing more rewarding than winning the trust of a dog like Rod. Watching a fearful dog slowly "unfold" and start to enjoy life is a sense of achievement unlike any other. You'll be giving him a world where he doesn't have to be afraid.

Full support will be provided to his new foster or forever family. If you have a quiet home, a friendly dog, and a lot of love to give, please get in touch. You won’t be alone!

Could you be Rod's hero ? (Cape supplied upon request)
