All About SID (SLIABH DONAIRT)
Super Sid is an absolute love bug. Walks beautifully on the lead, occasionally reactive to other breeds if they get too close, but not affected by children, horses, bicycles etc when out walking..even just stood and watched a squirrel. An absolute people pleaser, who is so easily trainable into what his 'happy ever after' want him to be. So what could possibly be 'wrong' with Sid ?
Sid is a big, tall boy, so wouldn/t be suitable for a family with very small children as his clumsiness could knock little ones over. He hates being left alone so would best suit a household where there is someone around all the time. Sid's favourite thing in the whole world is food to the extent he is not happy if you try to take it away. Maybe putting him in a different room/crating technique at meal times. In a recent foster, Sid was repeatedly told 'no' and 'lie down' whilst fosterer ate. He was then rewarded with 'tit bits' when they had finished. This worked really well. He needs a 'greyhound savvy' owner who can be firm with him from day one, along with a large heart & a comfy sofa. You will be rewarded with the most amazing amount of unconditional love in return for showing Sid that it's ok to love food, he just needs to mind his manners around it, to fit into his new home.
