All About KEL (DRUMDOIT KEL)

All about Kel

Kel is friendly and affectionate with our volunteers and is partial to an ear rub or two!  He greets everybody with an enthusiastic tail wag.

In quieter areas he walks calmly by your side, but in busier places can pull more strongly, especially when confronted with exciting stimuli such as squirrels and off-lead dogs.   He would need a confident handler who could react quickly to different situations.

Kel has recently been fosteed with one of our volunteers for a few days who reported:
'It was Kel's first time in a home environment and he did very well.  After a bit of panting to start, Kel was quite calm in the house.   We made regular trips to the garden to help with toilet training and he only had one accident in the house.   Kel was fine when we were eating and didn't display any resource guarding behaviour.

In addition to local walks, we took him on trips out to Hartlebury Castle and Worcester Woods  Country Park.   When walking, Kel tends to pull on the lead but is manageable.   He will pull quite strongly towards all dogs, but doesn't jump or bark and did seems to be gradually getting better.

Kel is lovely with people, he happily wagged his tail and accepted a fuss from eveyrone that we met.   We hope that Kel's short foster helps him find his forever home soon.
