Lynne and Andy Carter joined Home Run Hounds as volunteers a few months ago. Keen to get involved in all aspects of volunteering, from trips and events off-site to overnight fostering, they completed all the necessary forms and checks. Although they hoped to home another dog in the future, after suffering the loss of their previous greyhound Dexter, they were waiting for just the right connection. Well Desi didn’t waste any time convincing them that he was ‘the chosen one’. A firm favourite with all the volunteers, Desi has the most infectious personality, with Lynne describing him as ‘an absolute joy to be around’. Lynne and Andy got to know Desi really well over several weekend stays, as they had a holiday already planned that prevented them from bringing him home sooner. He’s now officially home to stay and we couldn’t be happier for them all.
