Greyhounds are in the top five gentlest dogs
The one we've all been waiting for !
Cute Koko stole all of our hearts when her sensitivity to opioids gave us all the most massive scare. During her routine neuter, Koko nearly left us for Rainbow Bridge. Thanks to the expert care of Wombourne Vets and the amazing support of our homers and followers, enough funds were raised to almost cover Koko's extra costs - we can't thank you all enough !
Fab fosterer Jody took Koko in for her recovery period and taught her the basics of 'Pet Life' (with the help of Jody's hounds Rodney, Bally and Tilly)
Referred to us by dear friends, Claire and Helen were looking for a companion for their greyhound Jez. Having homed retired greys for some years, we were excited to meet them all. Jez and Koko walked together as if they had known each other all their lives and some off lead play in the paddock caused Jez to wag his tail and skip about - something he hadn't done since losing his beloved companions Ruby and Alonso. Suffice to say, there were tears of joy all round.
As with all our adoptions, a period of 'Foster to Adopt' was put into place. Foster to Adopt gives the freedom for both greyhound and homer to ensure the correct match has been made. Claire joked that the decision had already been made at the time, but confirmed recently that Koko was (as predicted) home to stay. We are absolutely thrilled for the whole family. This gorgeous little lady could not have wished for a better home. Way to go Koko !
