Can't Adopt But Would Like to Help?

Greyhounds aren’t the first breed of dog most people think of when considering what dog to get…with your help we’d like to change that.

It’s so important that we get the word out that greyhounds make excellent family pets and to bust a few  myths about the breed, such as they need lots of exercise, they aren’t good with children, or they can’t live with cats, etc.

There are several ways you can spread the word.

  1. Download our poster and ask your local shop if they could put it on the community bulletin board.  Click here to download
  2. Most communities have a local Facebook group. Please join and share information about our upcoming events and awareness roadshows (see upcoming events page to copy and paste)
  3. If you have a connection with a local scout group, school, care home, or other community groups, ask if they’d like Home Run Hounds to visit to give a talk, and bring along the greyhounds
  4. Home Run Hounds provides work experience/Duke of Edinburgh placements for young people which is a good way to get to the know the breed and let others know too.
  5. If your work setting does community involvement days, ask if they’d like to come and volunteer at one of our kennels for the day.

In order for our Homing Centres to survive we need to be able to broadcast our services and get our name and greyhounds as pets into the Public Arena. If you can help in any way that would be greatly appreciated.
