Home Run Hounds Newsletters
We hope you enjoyed our first HRH Newsletter at the beginning of May and thank you so much to those of you who gave us such positive feedback on our first edition. We have decided to send out a Newsletter every two months and the link to our second edition can be found here.
Before you press the link, we want to tell you about a wonderful Facebook promotion we did recently during National Volunteer Week. which highlighted the many unpaid roles our amazing volunteers undertake. For those of you not on our social media channels we thought we would highlight some of the roles below.
First and foremost, are our two founders, Claire and Tracey. These amazing ladies are our heart and soul and without their hard work and dedication, HRH wouldn't be the force it is today. In addition, as HRH has expanded, the West Midlands volunteers have been joined by those in Suffolk, Rixton and Romford, led by Ingrid, Jo, Katie and Andrew. They are all firmly on the front line, getting involved in the day to day running and homing of hounds, as well as the considerable behind the scenes work involved in running a Charity. They are all our inspiration!
Other teams behind the scenes include those involved with fundraising, databases, administration, the website and social media and our sponsor scheme. Those directly involved with hounds support fosterers, complete home checks and do adoption follow up. You may well have met our daily walkers and the lead volunteers but there are also those involved with vet visits and the welfare of our hounds. Those not able to get to kennels, help with our events and awarenesses and our community liaison. We are also grateful for the volunteers who complete the jobs that no one realises are there, such as lawn mowing, van maintenance, general diy on our sites and collection and delivery of food, items between sites and our hounds to appointments and events.
Last but not least are our young volunteers who are our future. They volunteer, spread the word and fundraise regularly for our hounds.
We would always welcome more volunteers, particularly to the not so obvious roles. So if you, or someone you know, would be interested in helping us and joining our team, please get in touch at
hello@homerunhounds.co.uk or via other contact channels on our website.
