DUMBO (HONOUR DUMBO)'s story:
Happily homed Dumbo - Honour Dumbo
Dumbo had watched her sister, Pinocchio now Crumble leave kennels to start her retirement and was waiting to be the one to be chosen by a lucky family.
Jen and Jon spotted Dumbo on social media and thought that she would be the one for their family. They had owned a greyhound before so were excited to introduce their 2 girls to the wonderful world of greyhounds.
The initial meeting at kennels went well and Dumbo went up north to start her new life.
Dumbo was a more complicated dog than originally thought and was very grateful for the safe space that Jen had created and spent the first couple of days hiding in there, not really sure what to do.
The family gave her the time she needed and she soon found that joining them in the lounge was far more fun than hiding away!
Dumbo also decided that loud noises scared her on walks so began to freeze. Again, the family gave her time and space but Dumbo was not a fan of walks.
We have to thank Clare from Insight Hounds for working with Jen and Jon and her expertise and their patience has finally paid off.
Now called Belle, Jen reports that the course was very helpful in settling Belle into family life.
We thank Jen and Jon for working with Belle and we look forward to updates on her progress. She’s already had a trip to the beach and is treated like a princess by the girls!
