All About LOUIS (DIRECT LOUIE)

Louis is a wonderfully gentle, affectionate greyhound with a calm and kind nature. He can sometimes be a little unsure of the world around him, but the more we get to know him, the more his lovely personality shines through.

Louis recently spent a week in a foster home, giving us a fantastic opportunity to see how he adapts to family life  and he did brilliantly.

He was incredibly patient and gentle with his fosterer's three children, including two very young children, and loved nothing more than having a fuss, particularly under his chin! Although he was wonderful with them, he did find the general noise and bustle of young family life a little overwhelming, so we think Louis would be happiest in a quieter home or one with older children.

He adapted well to household life. Everyday appliances didn't bother him, although the hoover definitely wasn't his favourite! He picked up his toilet training very quickly and had no accidents indoors.

Louis also showed us his playful side. He loved relaxing in the sunshine and would happily entertain himself throwing his ball into the air and then chasing after it.

Out on walks, Louis is still learning how to navigate encounters with other breeds of dog. He can be unsure and may back away or bark when another dog gets too close, so he does show some reactivity. He'll need an owner who understands this and is happy to continue helping him build his confidence and learn that other dogs aren't something to worry about.

His fosterer described him as "such a gentle, kind soul. So patient and calm", which sums Louis up beautifully.

Louis has shown us that he has all the makings of a wonderful companion. He's gentle, affectionate, playful and has proved that he can settle beautifully into home life. We think a relatively calm home, ideally with older children, where he can continue building his confidence and enjoy plenty of fuss would suit him perfectly.

If you think Louis could be the missing piece of your family, we'd love for you to come and meet this very special boy.
