All About CHILLI (GLENGAR CHILLI)

SPECIAL APPEAL: CHILLI NEEDS YOU!

A few weeks ago we put out an appeal for Chilli, his separation anxiety means that he could no longer stay in his current home and needs a new forever home or a foster home.

Unfortuantely no one came forward and Chilli has now been signed back into the care of HRH and fortunately one of our volunteers who couldn't bear the thought of him going back into kennels has agreed to foster him, with her 3 greyhounds, Kiwi, Cooper and Tink.

He had spent the weekend there before while his owner was away for a family gathering and he's now there full time. She says he came right in an fell asleep on the sofa

Here’s what she has to say from his first weekend sleepover and will provide an update shortly.

-Chilli has been a dream this weekend, he has fit into our home and our routines without an issue. He adores my dogs and I feel it’s essential that he goes to live with at least one other greyhound.

-He has got on well with Kiwi (bitch) and Cooper (dog) following them round and copying their behaviour. Tink is an older girl and she told him off when he first arrived so he’s given her a wider berth but as she’s realised he’s no threat, she’s relaxed around him.

-He is so sweet, his tail never stops wagging.

-We have been for long walks and initially there were a couple of freezes, now he trots along beside Kiwi and Cooper, happy to be out and about. He doesn’t like sudden loud noises but a quick reassurance and he’s good to go.

-Chilli has shown no aggression at all, no reaction to other breeds. He has eaten really well, loves a treat (especially cocktail sausages), is completely clean in the house, he stands by the door waiting to go out.
-he followed my dogs up and down the stairs and is now really confident on the with them.

I have left him for short periods and there has been some barking for the first few minutes but then he settles as he follows what Cooper does. I feel his separation anxiety will improve with time and patience and the confidence of another dog.

-He travels really well, jumping in and out of my car.
-Chilli is so friendly and I’ve seen a really playful boy emerging, he’s only 3 so still a youngster.
-Unfortunately, Chilli cannot live with cats.

Could you offer sweet Chilli a home?

Chilli needs:
