MEET THE WONDERFUL MARY
Foster carers Kay and Pete had Mary for a short foster and what a glowing report!
"We had Mary for a weekend foster. She had only been in kennels for just over a week, but had already been taken offsite and coped very well. So we decided to see how she would fare at the Moira Canal Festival.
She was an absolute gem. We were able to walk her on a long lead and she took everything in her stride. We took her on both days. She was more than happy to be stroked by adults and children of all ages, and was completely relaxed around other dogs, both large and small. She really was an all-round superstar.
At home, we had no issues with her at all. She ate her food well, showed no guarding issues around toys or food, and was happy to be snuggled while resting in her bed. She quickly understood standing by the door when she needed to go outside for the toilet, and she slept all night, only waking to go out at around 7am.
Mary is also a very affectionate girl. She seemed to favour me over Pete — greeting him with a gentle low wag, while I got the full helicopter tail! She’s got a cheeky side too, deciding that her bed was the perfect place to stash anything she could pick up, which was very funny to watch.
This has by far been the chillest dog we’ve ever fostered, and I’m sure she won’t be with us for long."
