MAC (MACALPINE)'s story:
Happily Homed Mac - Macalpine
Neil and Joanne came to kennels with their beautiful girl, Libby, as they were all grieving the loss of Libby’s fur sister Lola. Seasoned greyhound people, they came to meet our girls but Libby had another plan. You may need a tissue for this one.
Girls were introduced and there was something just not quite right, Libby with her beautiful frosted face, needed an extra special hound to be her new sibling.
Joanne and Neil agreed to meet a boy, they had never had a male greyhound but decided to trust the process. Enter stunning boy Mac, the humans lit up and Libby could not stop wagging her tail and gentle boy Mac just leant on Neil. This was the match that we all wanted to see.
Adoption completed and Mac, now Tiger, went back up north to start his retirement.
Libby spent the few days teaching Tiger all she knew, she carefully showed him the garden, where to sleep, basically how to be the perfect homed greyhound. Tiger settled beautifully and all was good.
Unfortunately, on day 5, Libby suffered a stroke and heartbreakingly didn’t survive.
Joanne and Neil are simply devastated at the loss of Libby but have had so much comfort from Tiger who totally understands his role. Neil told us that when he’s really sad, Tiger comes over and put a paw on him for comfort. The couple are incredibly thankful to have such a special boy to help them with their grief.
Well done Libby, you made sure your beloved humans were going to be ok before you had to leave them and gorgeous Tiger has found himself a top notch home in which to live out his retirement.
