Another Home Run Hounds Success Story!

Sometimes things happen for a reason. Little dot of a dog, Nellie had been in a home for 18 months but sadly due to a change in circumstances her family couldn't look after her anymore.

We really didn't want her to stay in kennels to be any longer than necessary, so we looked for a foster home and long serving volunteers Jo and Charles stepped in.  They were thinking of having another hound after losing their two beloved greys, Power and Jeff last year. 

But with the addition of a new baby, it had to be the right hound to make their family complete. Nellie had lived with children before so it looked like it could be a great fit.

Sure enough it was.

Charles and Jo report "Nellie has been an absolute star since we started fostering her. We have a very inquisitive and boisterous toddler who will not leave her alone and she tolerates all he (literally) throws at her.

She just wants to be next to him all day, she’s such a loving girl and we can’t wait to watch them become best friends."

Nellie even alerts them when their little one is crying upstairs and she won't settle until one of them goes to attend to him. What a good guardian she is!

We just love a failed foster, don't you? It was just meant to be.
