HERO (LOGGIES HERO)'s story:
Sam and Simon saw Home Run Hounds at a recent awareness at Monmore. They were looking for a friend for their old boy Woodsy who was sad after his long term girlfriend had died. They’d not considered a greyhound before but were won over by this incredible breed.
The dog requirements were a little tricky as well as Woodsy, there was George the cat, a parrot and 2 children to consider.
They came to kennels with Woodsy and met several girls, with a clear favourite and an excellent back up in the running which all depended on a cat test.
After a nervous wait to see if either girl could be considered as cat workable, they were disappointed as both girls were described as “rather keen” when meeting Tom the cat.
But life has a funny way of working out, Hero had come into kennels after an extended period of living with another dog and a cat. Sam, daughter Lucy and Woodsy came over to meet Hero and fell in love with this gorgeous boy. Hero went over to meet George and all was well so he started his foster to adopt period.
Fast forward 10 days and the family were back to complete Hero’s adoption. He has been absolutely perfect and it was clear to see how the bond was forming already. He has been a fantastic friend for Woodsy and behaves perfectly around George. Lucy who had been a little nervous of big dogs was confidently handling Hero who clearly adores her.
