Happily Homed Maverick - Tahina Maverick
After the passing of their family dog three years ago, Paul, Fay, Megan and Issac had lived with a massive hole in their home but weren’t ready to open their hearts to another 4 legged friend.
They had started the conversation about having another dog and after some research and some gentle “persuasion” from Megan, they decided that a greyhound would be the perfect fit.
Paul, Fay and Isaac came to kennels to meet some of our boys and find out more about greyhounds as family dogs.
Daughter Megan is away at university and worked out where her family were, as they hadn’t told her, and very excitedly phoned them for an update!
They met three of our boys and it was gorgeous Maverick who ticked all their boxes. Isaac’s smile got bigger and bigger the more time he spent with Maverick which was just lovely to see.
A week later, all four of them came to collect Maverick for his foster to adopt, Megan loved him instantly and was quite emotional at the prospect of taking this gentle giant home.
Maverick has settled into retirement well, his new family absolutely adore him and he has helped to heal that hole that losing a beloved dog leaves. Paul takes him to work with him and is spreading the word about the magic of greyhounds. Well done Maverick, enjoy your retirement, you’ve landed on your lucky paws with this fabulous family.
