NORMAN (HOLLYHILL FATBOY)'s story:
Neil emailed Home Run Hounds after sadly losing his two lurchers, Penny and Rusty, within six months of each other. His friend Frank described him as being “a little lost” afterwards. Neil worried that his age might prevent him from being considered for rehoming, but was assured that with the right support network in place he could offer a suitable home for a retired greyhound.
Neil’s requirements were quite straight forward: a dog that didn’t pull too much and would happily accompany him to the pub. Norman, who had recently gone into foster care with Julie and Mike, was the obvious choice. So a viewing was arranged and Norman did his best to impress, earning his reserved tag. Even though his time in foster care was brief, Julie reported that he was starting to learn some basic commands such as ‘bed’ and respond to his name. His training will now continue with Neil in his new home. He’s sticking with the name Norman, as it pairs so well with Neil. I’m sure the regulars at their aptly named local ‘The Dog Inn’ are going to love him.
