PAM (SWIFT PAMELA)'s story:

DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT? WE DO
Volunteering with Home Run Hounds really does make a difference, read on to find out why…
Mark and Andrea Roberts weren’t looking for another dog but HRH kennel dog Pam had other ideas. Pam had been taken by our volunteers to the Moira Canal Festival to raise awareness of what greyt pets greyhounds make and see if we could find her a home.

Mark and Andrea’s daughter had had a lurcher before so they decided to go say hello to the greyhounds on the stall. That’s when Pam made her move….she decided that she wasn’t going to wait for the volunteers to find her a home, she’d find her own, thank you very much. She made a beeline to Mark and wouldn’t leave his side and the feelings were mutual. They reserved her there and then.

They visited the kennels the next day with the family member who wasn’t at the festival…Sasha the elderly Jack Russell Terrier. Introductions completed and our volunteers brought Pam to meet Sasha on her home turf and complete the homecheck. If all went well, Pam’s 2 week foster2adopt could start.

The family are so taken with her, she’s been perfect in every way, great with the grandchildren and a huge hit with Mark’s colleagues when he takes her to work. So they decided to adopt her after just a few days rather than wait the full two weeks.

Some things were just meant to be…thank you to Mark and Andrea for giving Pam a loving home and thank you to our volunteers who took her to the festival, without your dedication this match made in heaven would never have taken place.
