BELLA (BALLYMAC BELLA)'s story:
Happily homed Bella - Ballymac Bella
We loved a failed foster story!
Volunteer Helen took Bella home at the start of the summer holidays so she could grow her confidence along with homed greyhounds, Kiwi, Cooper and Tink.
Bella spent the first 48 hours shaking in the corner of the lounge. Slowly, she began to realise that this home was not scary, dog beds were comfy and her funny personality began to come out.
Her progress was remarkable and shared on Kiwi’s TikTok, it soon became evident to everyone (Helen was in denial) that this pocket rocket had found her forever home. Bella’s favourite time of the day, apart from her meals, is going for a walk where she literally jumps for joy. She has slotted into the pack with Kiwi, Cooper and Tink seamlessly.
With a celebratory meal of chicken nuggies, Bella had a new collar and a new name, Roo as Helen is convinced she is part kangaroo!
The intent was for Bella to be a foster dog and get ready for her forever home but Roo had other ideas as she had found her happy ever after and she wasn’t going anywhere.
Our shyer dogs may not instantly fall in love with you but given time, boundaries, patience and love, they are so rewarding.
