The Valentine we've all been waiting for...happy Valentine's (Gotcha) Day BLAKE!
Our followers will have seen our numerous appeals for Blake over the last 12 months. He was a much misunderstood boy, but loved by all the volunteers especially Kay and Pete who worked so hard to help him be braver in the outside world.
But the power of the Internet eventually prevailed and Janet found Blake via social media and came forward to foster him.
"Kay had put loads of photos on Facebook and I just fell in love!
I had been missing having a dog in my life, after I lost my third grey, Hunter, last summer.
Kay and Pete made me very welcome when I came to visit Blake and I could see that they loved him.
I took him for a walk with Pete and Blake was lovely to walk.
Having already had my homecheck, it was agreed I could take him home to start fostering him (though I already secretly knew he was the dog for me.)
When I drove off with Blake, there wasn't a dry eye!
He slept all the way to his new home and has settled in so well.
He sleeps next to my bed and enjoys a lie in!
He's done his first roach and loves to play with his toys.
He enjoys his walks and has been very brave when we've met any little dogs! No problem at all.
He has brought joy into my life.
I'd like to add what lovely condition he is in and is a credit to the kennels! Such a shiny coat!"
It just goes to show that there is a home for every dog out there but sometimes it takes a little longer(or alot as in Blake's case) to find it.
We are soooo happy that both Blake and Jan found eachother...a massive foster fail as she'd made her mind up he was the right dog for her after just 2 days!
