Greyhounds are mentioned in 11 of Shakespeare’s plays
Several months ago, experienced greyhound owners, Pattie and Dave Vukomanovic, visited kennels for a viewing. The two dogs we had lined up to meet them just weren’t making the right connection. When they mentioned that they normally go for the ones with ‘a bit of character’ the Lead Volunteer knew exactly who to bring out next…Paddy!
This stunning, fawn male was now our longest stayer due to being a strong lad as well as his size. Pattie and Dave kindly agreed to foster Paddy, whilst awaiting necessary dental work. This allowed them to see his wonderful personality begin to unfold - ‘supervising’ the farm traffic down the lane and putting the squirrels through their paces! After his dental, they were only too happy to sign the adoption paperwork and make everything official. For the volunteers, kennel 14 will always be remembered as ‘Paddy’s kennel’ but everyone is delighted for him to finally find a place to call ‘home’.
