Another Home Run Hounds Success Story!

STAR (WICKLOW STAR)'s story:

Ross and Tom recently said goodbye to their much loved greyhound, Mahlow. They got in touch wanting to use everything he had taught them to give another greyhound a happy home.

They were searching for a calm, gentle, cat tolerant greyhound that could live with Theo their cat. Ross and Tom describe Theo as ‘a free spirit who likes to come and go as he pleases’. So any new addition to the family would need to allow him to continue feeling happy, safe and comfortable in his own home.

Fortunately, a few days later Star popped home with one of our volunteers, who happens to have a cat.  After paying not the slightest bit of attention to it we arranged for Ross and Tom to meet him.

They cancelled holiday plans to begin a two week Foster2Adopt trial. Having done cat introductions before, they were confident to proceed right away - with support on hand if needed.

Fast forward a week and Ross and Tom have completely fallen in love with Star and he definitely isn't coming back having settled so well.  In keeping with the celestial theme, he will be renamed Elio. When used as a male first name in Italian and Spanish, Elio derives from the Ancient Greek god of the sun, Helios. It translates to "the sun" or "sunlight". Well he’s certainly brought the sunshine back into Ross and Tom’s lives.
